Belgium for Jesus
By his wounds we are healed - Isaiah 53:5

About the history of this congregation:

The executive pastors Cees and Agnès Laurey become newborn Christians in 1974 and attend church services in Zwijndrecht. Together they attend a 3-year bible college in Dordrecht. During their service in the church they are called by God to go to a mission area. The Lord leads them to the Kempen. The Lord cares and Cees gets a job in Eersel, which provides an income for his family. He iniates a design centre for telecommunication devices.

They move to Eersel in 1980 and in 1983 they founded the “Kempische Full Gospel Church Rehoboth”. At that time their family has 5 children, 4 daughters, the youngest one is a son. The church grows and soon others are trained to serve in the church. During one of the  leadership conferences which Cees and Agnès attend each year, the Lord says that the area where they’re working is bigger than they think and He wants to use them in Belgium as well. The church keeps growing and also Belgian Christians are being added to the church in Eersel.

In 1988 Agnès attends the Theological School in Heverlee (Leuven Belgium). In 1994 she graduates in  “Science of Religion” and also obtains her teacher’s qualification. Directly after the graduation she’s been offered a job and starts working at a highschool as a religion teacher.

Through the years a desire is growing to move to Belgium. In the year 2000 they move to Lommel. In 2001 the Lord calls them to full-time ministry. The congregation is enthusiastic about it. And so it happens: they both quit their jobs and in August 2001 they start working full-time for the church. This gives them an enormous peace and provides additional opportunities, so that the leadership in church gets the necessary attention and supervision.

For years the church has been looking for their own place. In 2003 a fellow chuch gives a hint that a beautiful building is about to be available. The keys of this building are handed over on the 26th February 2004. The name of the building will be: ‘Christian Centre Alphamega’. Many people are working hard to turn everything into place for church services. On 4th September 2004 the building is officially opened by the mayor of Lommel. Having our own building is a wonderful means to increase the vision.

The vision is and remains: The Kempen for Jesus.
